Nervous sysyem

the nervous system is a network of specialized cells that communicate information about an organism’s surroundings and itself. It processes this information and causes reactions in other parts of the body. It is composed of neurons and other specialized cells called glial cell ( plural form glia ) that aid in the function of the neurons ( wikipedia )

Susunan umum sistem saraf

• sistem saraf pusat
• sistem saraf tepi

Sistem saraf pusat ( central nervous system / CNS )

1. otak ( brain )
2. sumsum tulang belakang ( spiral cord )

Sistem saraf tepi ( peripheral nervous system / PNS )

• sistem saraf somatik ( somatic nervous system / SNS ) => bagian pns yang berinteraksi dengan lingkungan eksternal
• sistem saraf otonom ( autonomic nervous system / ANS ) => bagian pns yang berinteraksi dengan lingkungan internal ( organ organ dalam tubuh )

Sistem saraf tepi ( PNS )

Baik SNS maupun ANS terdiri dari :

1. saraf aferen ( afferent nerves ) -> menuju CNS
2. saraf eferen ( efferent nerves ) -> meninggalkan CNS

ANS

Memiliki 2 sistem eferen

1. saraf simpatik ( sympathetic nerves ) => saraf motorik otonom yang keluar dari CNS di lumbar ( daerah pinggang ) dan thoracic ( dada ) di sumsum tulang belakang
2. Saraf parasimpatik ( parasympathetic nerves ) => saraf motorik otonom dari otak dan bagian sacral ( punggung bagian bawah ) di sumsum tulang belakang
